• Our band need to fit in with audience more. Through personal/political views.
• Have signifiers for the electro genre and rock genre.
• Exploit the fact that we are a evenly mix-gendered group. This can be done through publicity shots.
• It should be the breakdown of a pop star rather than actress (this connotes the change from a pop star to a rock star and it makes more sense as we are having the celebrity become the lead singer of the rock band at the end of the video.
• Modify scenes we already have to fit the pop star persona. (shooting a music video, Album signing, social networks)
• We can portray ourselves as hard-core and gritty but accessible.
• Make sure we create a obvious difference between pop star and rock star even though they are played by the same person.
• We could have a Simon Cowell-like figure in the background.
• We could use photos to condense narrative if we need to.
• We could use newspaper headlines to condense narrative too.
• Our lead singer could have tattoos, which she has to cover up when she is a pop star (this would be shown in the music video).
• We need to have 5 signifiers for each character.
• Have common signifiers between band members for realism and synergy, but have distinct personalities for each one.
• Strong personalities from non-singing band members to balance with the singer.
• We should look at how band members move with their instruments and how we want to move in our music video.
• We should book a screen test.
