Female Fronted Bands

I researched into the popularity of female fronted bands, as they are in themselves a subgenre. I looked at where they were from, how many Twitter followers they have, when they were formed and how many likes they had on Facebook, to see what kind of fanbase we think our band would have.

Paramore

• American rock band, formed in 2004
• Main fanbase is 13-24 year old girls
• Hugely successful internationally (albums charted all over the world)
• 27 million likes on Facebook
• 2.5 million followers on Twitter

Evanescence

 

• American rock band, formed in 1995
• Main fanbase is 15-24 year old boys and girls but they have a lot of appeal to many age groups.
• Extremely successful worldwide with a huge fan base
• 21.5 million likes on Facebook
• 800,000 followers on Twitter

We Are The In Crowd

• American pop-punk band, formed in 2009
• Main fanbase is 13-21 year old girls
• 250,000 likes on Facebook
• 250,000 followers on Twitter

Halestorm

• American rock/metal band, formed in 1998
• Main fanbase is 15-24 year old males and females
• 600,000 likes on Facebook
• 117,600 followers on Twitter

We think our band would have similar fanbases to these bands, and therefore hopefully would be as successful if we market them as well as these bands are marketed.
